Who do you say that I am? Jesus asks this question in our reading from Matthew’s gospel and it stirs up a lot of feelings and potential responses for most of us. Do we think about our identity as a child of God? Do we imagine ourselves in the context of our community of faith? Do we land somewhere in our sense of purpose? Do we recall all that God has done for us that we might be freed?

What if I fail?

What is your biggest fear? For most it is failure, but really the fear of appearing like a failure to others. We face all kinds of fears in our lives, often these fears stop us from living out our dreams. Sometimes they come in the form of a crushing medical diagnosis.

Our biggest fears are met with God’s greatest love in Jesus Christ. No matter our situation, Jesus reaches out to us to remind us that He is with us.
