We have a hard time hearing texts like this one because of who we are as Americans. We have fallen into the trip of believing that the more “stuff” we have, the better off we are. But Jesus wants to offer a corrective and reminds us that it isn’t about how much stuff we have or don’t have, but about our identity in God that determines how we are doing.
