Where are you from? Why does it matter? In today’s reading from John’s Gospel we here something about where Jesus if from and why it matters. Could it be that Mary and Joseph’s boy is the answer to our deepest longing for saving?

We love bread. Bread holds memories for Pastor Paul, who talks about bread and being called to the feast. Jesus says, “I am the Bread of Life” and from there we welcome this gift from God that gives life to the world.

What is God's plan? We tend to use it as a fallback position when things don't go our way, but what if we look at what scripture has to say about it by reading Paul's letter to the Ephesians? God's plan is laid out for those who follow Jesus.

We don't like it when others "should" on us, right? You should do this or you shouldn't do that. Jesus experiences some "shoulding" in today's gospel reading.
